En respuesta al terremoto que ha cobrado un gran número de vidas en Türkiye y Siria, el fondo la Educación No Puede Esperar (ECW, por sus siglas en inglés) ha anunciado hoy, como respuesta rápida a la emergencia en Siria, una contribución de 7 millones de dólares estadounidenses, con el objetivo de garantizar a las infancias afectadas el acceso a una educación que salva vidas.

Elle (Mme PASCALE BAERISWYL (Suisse)) a déploré l’augmentation du nombre d’attaques contre les écoles dans beaucoup de zones de conflit, estimant à 222 millions le nombre d’enfants en situation de crise qui ont besoin d’un soutien éducatif.  C’est pourquoi la Suisse et le fonds Education Cannot Wait organisent cette semaine à Genève, en étroite collaboration avec l’Allemagne, la Colombie, le Niger, la Norvège et le Soudan du Sud, une conférence de haut niveau dédiée à la promotion et au financement de l’éducation dans les situations d’urgence et les crises prolongées. 

Following the IC Forum, the first Education Cannot Wait (ECW) High-Level Financing Conference will be held on 16 and 17 February 2023. ECW, the UN's global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises, and Switzerland are co-hosts and are organising a high-ranking financing conference on restructuring education in emergencies in close collaboration with the governments of Colombia, Germany, Niger, Norway and South Sudan. 

Anlässlich des Internationalen Tages der Frauen und Mädchen in der Wissenschaft hat Education Cannot Wait (ECW) heute Somaya Faruqi zum neuen „ECW Global Champion" ernannt. Die ehemalige Kapitänin des afghanischen Mädchen-Robotik-Teams wird als weltweite Fürsprecherin von ECW fungieren und auf der anstehenden ECW High-Level Financing Conference am 16. und 17. Februar in Genf (Schweiz) eine wichtige Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema Afghanistan leiten.

Roughly 78 million of those children are out of school altogether, according to Education Cannot Wait, the United Nations’ global fund for education in emergencies. Not only does this derail their development and limit their prospects, but it also places them at greater risk of violence, poverty, forced labour and child marriage.

In celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Education Cannot Wait (ECW) today named Somaya Faruqi as a new ECW Global Champion. The former captain of the Afghan Girls' Robotics Team will serve as a global advocate for ECW and will headline an important Spotlight on Afghanistan panel discussion at the upcoming ECW High-Level Financing Conference, 16 and 17 February in Geneva, Switzerland. 

A High-Level Financing Conference held in Geneva - hosted by Switzerland and Education Cannot Wait; the UN’s Global Fund for Education - and co-convened by the Governments of Colombia, Germany, Niger, Norway and South Sudan - brings partners together to deliver on the promise of education for all.  

A ex-capitã da equipe de robótica feminina afegã, Somaya Faruqi, é a nova campeã global do Fundo das Nações Unidas para Educação em Emergências e Crises Prolongadas “Educação Não Pode Esperar”. A premiação acontece em celebração ao Dia Internacional de Mulheres e Meninas na Ciência, marcado pela ONU neste 11 de fevereiro.
