My Message to the World Leaders!
My Name is Abdul* and my father’s name is Mustapha. I am 12 years old and I come from southern Afghanistan. I am currently learning in an Accelerated Learning Program – ALP classes facilitated by Street Child in our village.
My dream is to become an engineer and serve my people in the future. Although my parents are illiterate due to the war and endless crisis in Afghanistan; But I want to get an education. I would like to add, due to wars and anti-education culture of some people in our living area, there is no school nearby; However, I want to get education despite all these obstacles and fulfill the dreams of my parents and mine for building a prosperous future.
We are so happy and thankful to the ECW and Street Child for providing us with education opportunities in our village. Also, we have received pens, notebooks, books and crayons from Street Child and it has been wonderful to learn my lessons. I argue the leadership of ECW and Street Child to continue this supportive program; So, my peers and I can complete our education.
Also, I call on the world leaders: We the Afghan children do not war any more; instead of war, we want books to read and pens to write with. I would like world leaders to pay attention to investing in education in my Afghanistan and other poor countries.
Thank you so much,
From Abdul*
