1.5 million children are at risk of being out of school due to drought in Kenya. This figure comes on top of the 1.9 million children already out of school in arid and semi-arid regions of the country.

This situation is due to the historic drought affecting East Africa, said Wednesday "Education Cannot Wait", the United Nations global fund for education in situations Emergency and Protracted Crises, which announced a grant of two million US dollars.
