Ecuador MYRP 2024-2027, approved in July 2024
Ecuador faces significant challenges in providing quality education to its large population of Venezuelan refugees and migrants, exacerbated by the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic and political instability, and increasing violence. Despite government efforts, barriers to education persist, with a significant number of refugee, migrant, and host community children out of school and struggling with low learning outcomes. Additionally, issues like gender-based violence, xenophobia, and discrimination further threaten the safety and well-being of students. In response, the ECW-funded second Multi-Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) in Ecuador, led by RET International and a consortium of partners, aims to reach 42,700 children across eight cantons, focusing on providing safe, equitable, and gender-transformative education opportunities, improving retention, and enhancing learning outcomes over the next three years.
