First, we recognise the EU’s efforts to address global challenges. The UK is proud of our work alongside the EU to establish Energy Transition Partnerships. We also welcome the EU’s considerable support for the UN’s Education Cannot Wait fund.

During the first-ever pledging conference for education in emergencies, countries and other donors vowed Thursday to provide $826 million for Education Cannot Wait's work for the next four years.

First, we recognise the EU’s efforts to address global challenges. The UK is proud of our work alongside the EU to establish Energy Transition Partnerships. The ETP has helped coal-dependent emerging economies make a just energy transition by building on the model pioneered at COP26, and we look forward to continuing this work through COP28. We also welcome the EU’s considerable support for the UN’s Education Cannot Wait fund. As a co-founder of the fund, the UK values this support to high quality education in emergencies.

El ministro de Desarrollo Internacional, Harjit S. La semana pasada, Education Cannot Wait (ECW), el fondo global de la ONU para la educación en emergencias y crisis prolongadas, organizó una Cumbre de Financiación de Alto Nivel (HLFC) en Ginebra para generar voluntad política para financiar una educación de calidad, inclusiva y transformadora para más de 222 millones de niños, niñas y adolescentes que viven en situaciones de crisis y conflicto en todo el mundo.
